Stag Do Trends

In the 90's (the very start of the hen and stag do boom) I just started working in the stag and hen industry (with another company not DesignaVenture), groups were mainly booking 1 activity and then maybe a trip to a lap dancing club (if the city had one) and then onto a nightclub before getting their heads down in a B&B or bunk house.

Also in the 1990's it was rare for a stag do organiser to have the opportunity to work with loads of city centre bars, and hotels  just the mere mention of the words "stag do" doors would be shut in your face, phones would slam down and people would run for cover.

Also remember pubs would close at 11pm and you would come out of a club stinking of smoke!

Stag parties who booked karts had loads of fun racing lawn mower powered grass karts which would go about 23mph.

Quad Bikes were slow, big and buxom geared machines which were quite difficult to ride unless you were a farmer.

Paintball guns would jam all the time, the masks would always steam up, it was £10 for 100 rounds  and lunch consisted of a bowl of baked beans army style.

If you were lucky to go abroad you may find the flight price would be as expensive as what a whole flight inclusive package would cost these days.

WOW, haven't things changed!

Stag dos these days are booking 2/3/4 or even week long celebrations all over the world. From Las Vegas to Bournemouth action package weekends include loads of activities day and night and you now have the opportunity to stay in 2,3,4 or even 5 star hotels.

There are lap dancing clubs in almost all popular stag do destinations and these days bars love pre booked stag parties.

Grass karts are no longer (thank God), these days you can race Rage Buggies which go up to 58pmh or electric indoor karts which hit speeds of over 40mph in total silence!

Quad bikes are mostly automatic and are simple to ride.

Paintball equipment has moved on in a big way and has almost military precision and reliability. No longer do your masks fog up and at some paintball sites you will get Pappa Johns pizzas for lunch.

We have a great paintball site in North Wales where the lunch is an unlimited BBQ lunch and it's simply incredible.

We are also taking part in more adventurous activities such as Canyoning, Coasteering and Stock Car Racing, more groups are getting dressed up and going horse racing and the overall consensus lets do something different on the next stag do.

Hen and stag do fancy dress is now a massive industry and 47% of all stag parties booked through DesignaVenture either dressed up in fancy dress or wore stag do t-shirts.*

Now, when your Domino Stagging you will go on at least one stag do abroad. Mostly heading for the Canary or Balearic islands you will witness and take part in 24 hour partying and have the time of your lives, thanks to low cost airlines.

So in conclusion we are attending more stag dos, the activities are faster, bigger and more adventurous and we are going further then ever before.

Good luck!

*We asked a 100 stag parties who booked through DesignaVenture in 2015 if they wore fancy dress on their stag do.
